After many years working in multi-faceted ministry, singer/songwriter Dale Antrim has returned to his roots by expressing his heart through his new debut release EP "Hear My Cry" CD. Dale's heart for a passionate and intimate worship expression is clearly evident through this project, which reflects many musical influences and is birthed out of personal struggle. His desire to write material that impacts and empowers people to come face to face with life and walk away with a fresh and determined perspective is the culmination of his own life experiences.
In the Beginning...
Born in Southeastern Pennsylvania USA, Dale was drawn to music at an early age. He began the journey by singing in church as a young child and studied music throughout his school years eventually playing with a local band and other musical outlets. Impacted by the faith of his grandmother and other circumstances during his young adult years, Dale began to feel a great longing to "make a difference" in the lives of people and set out to attend bible college and prepare for the ministry. It was during this time that he continued to play, write and sing through college and began to sense a greater purpose in expressing his music making it a career focus which has allowed him the opportunity to perform/minister on an international scale.
Ministry
A seasoned minister/artist, Dale has recorded with a number of artists and has now followed his heart to "multiply the message" through his latest project produced with award-winning producer and personal friend Nick Coetzee (Rain Music Studios). Nick, a singer/songwriter himself, brings a wealth of international experience working with some of the top musicians, voices, and industry professionals. This experience, coupled with a gift to 'bring out the heart of the artist', has allowed Dale to tap into a venue of intimate and professional sound. An EP sample that prepares and paves the way to his next music project set for early 2010, "Hear My Cry" features Gary Lunn, Carl Albrecht, and Dave Cleveland, just a few of Nashville's greatest and sets out to offer a small taste of whats to come. Dale says,
"The goal of my music is to connect with the one source of help...the one source of healing...the one source of hope...and the bible is clear in the example of David and Psalm 61 that the source is our God. So we express...we thank...we pray...we acknowledge and we say... Hear my cry O God...when my heart is overwhelmed...lead me to You!"
Dale travels to churches and events internationally, performing and ministering through word and song. Whether it is a worship concert, an inspirational sunday service or a seminar, Dale's gift for communicating and encouraging people towards personal change and development is at the forefront of his ministry. In 2005, Dale and his family, operated from a European base...a move that greatly impacted and changed the course of their life and ministry. A trip to India during this time indellibly changed Dale. He says of that time,
"It was the eyes. When i saw the eyes of the children...deep pools of need looking back at me saying... will you help me? Eyes that are content and do not expect anything and, at the same time, scream 'save me'... It was then i knew that i could not...would not ever go back to living or doing ministry the way i was...that i had to do something...anything."
Open Hearts and Open Doors
Doors have continued to open into countries such as India and Sri Lanka. His heart, 'burdened' for these beautiful people, has prompted him to do everything he can to invest in their lives. Regarding missions, a pastor once said "I thought we were going to save Africa... and somewhere i realized it was Africa that saved me."
Do you want to help? Do you feel the call?
Consider the words of William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army...:
" 'Not called!' did you say? 'Not heard the call,' I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there. Then look Christ in the face -- whose mercy you have professed to obey -- and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world. "
Final words
I am convinced that it is our job to return the investment Christ made into us as our "blessed hope." The message is clear. If we turn to Him, He extends Himself to us and as we, in turn 'extend' to others, it results "...in many expressions of thanks to god." (2 Cor 9:12)
It is upon this understanding that 'Xpressions' was born.
